Women's Volleyball Can’t Get Past the Blue Jays

Lancaster Bible's Women's Volleyball team experienced a 3-0 defeat on the road in a non-conference match against Elizabethtown. With this loss, the Chargers now have a 13-8 overall record, maintaining a perfect 4-0 record within the conference. In contrast, the Blue Jays have improved their record to 10-9.

How It Happened: Elizabethtown started the first half with the upper hand, leading as much as 5-1 early, but a barrage of kills sparked by Morgan Fenstermacher brought the game back to just a 7-10 deficit for Lancaster Bible. After trading points in the middle of the set, the Blue Jays started to pull away leading by six, but Jessica Fletcher mustered two straight kills to make it a 13-16 game. However, Elizabethtown pulled out a dominant stretch to win the first set 25-16.

Chloe King set the tone for the Chargers, getting a kill on the first point of the second set, and the teams stayed toe-to-toe early in the set. Fenstermacher kept things rolling for Lancaster Bible, getting a kill followed up by a service ace as the Chargers trailed just 8-10. The Blue Jays went on another big run going up 19-10 late, and Faith Hammond got a kill to answer and attempt a comeback for Lancaster Bible. Still, Elizabethtown finished off the second set with a 25-16 victory.

The Chargers started out with a convincing start to the first half leading by 9-6 early behind kills from Hammond and Riley Dodrer. The Blue Jays got things going their way and led 16-11 later in the set. Hammond sparked a little run for the Chargers, bringing it back to just 14-17, but Elizabethtown was too much for Lancaster Bible and completed the sweep with a 25-15 win in the final set.
