The Lancaster Bible College Field Hockey team squared off against the Eastern Eagles on Tuesday afternoon, losing 4-0. The Chargers fall to 2-8 overall while the Eagles improve to an even 5-5 on the season.

How It Happened: The Eagles started out the first half on the attack placing nine total shots in the first period. The Chargers however were able to hold off the Eagles until the last five minutes when the Eagles managed to get two goals just two minutes apart from each other.

Down 2-0 and headed into the second period, the Chargers showed resilience as the Eagles sent another nine shots but failed to score one of those. Sophomore
Amanda Hoover racked up four total saves in the second period to help the Chargers defense. The Chargers attack also showed life as they were able to place a shot towards goal and make several runouts.

The second half turned out to be the same thing as the Eagles placed eight more shots in the second half scoring on two occasions in the third period. Hoover was able to make three more saves in the fourth period to add to her save total (10). The Eagles went on to win 4-0.

By the Numbers: The Chargers were outshot 26-1… the Eagles tallied 12 corners to the Chargers two corners… Hoover notched 10 total saves.

Information to Know: The Chargers have just three more non-conference games before entering their United East Conference schedule to end the year beginning with Wilson at home on Wednesday, October 18.
