Chargers Overcome Colonels Push to Secure Victory in Final Regular Season Match

The Lancaster Bible College Women's Volleyball team wrapped up their regular season Wednesday night against the Lady Colonels of Wilkes University in the Horst Athletic Center. The Chargers earned the 3-2 victory, improving to 17-10 for the season.

How It Happened: The Chargers had the edge in kills 14-10 in the first set while picking up five service aces en route to a 25-23 victory. Five different Chargers earned the aces in the set.

The second set started out slow, with the Chargers facing a 14-12 deficit. A 12-point run that saw three kills by Crystal Lenk and three aces from senior Morgan Fenstermacher brought out a more dominant Charger force that led to a 25-15 set victory.

The third set saw a flip of the first, with the visiting Colonels taking the set 25-23. Jessica Fletcher led the Charger offense with four kills in the set. Wilkes' victory sent the match to a fourth set, where the Colonels pulled away an extra point victory, with a 27-25 finish to go to five.

Both teams came out hungry in the fifth set, going point for point through 6-6 before Lancaster Bible was able to put together a five-point run to bring it to 11-6. The Colonels were able to add two more points before the Chargers pulled away with the 15-8 victory.

From the Coach: "It was great to finish our regular season on a high note. I am truly grateful for our seniors and who they are as people and the impact they have had in LBC Women's Volleyball." - Head Coach Julie Brubaker
