The Lancaster Bible College Men's Basketball team suffered a home defeat on Thursday night, losing 80-59 to Elizabethtown. The Chargers are now 3-6 overall and 1-1 in the United East, while the Blue Jays improve to 3-6 overall and 0-3 in the Landmark.
How it Happened:
The Blue Jays scored on their first possession, then the Chargers responded as
Maureon Tisdale-Couch scored off an offensive rebound to tie it up. The game went bucket-for-bucket early as
Grant Sareyka and
Daniel King scored, then Tisdale-Couch hit a long jumper and
Seth Beers knocked down a 3-pointer to give LBC an 11-7 lead. Freshman
Connor Storr hit a three to give the Chargers their largest lead of the game at eight points, but the Blue Jays quickly turned it around, taking a 22-20 lead halfway through the period. Sareyka finished an and-one layup and King hit a pair of free throws to slow the momentum, but the Chargers entered halftime down nine at 41-32.
The Chargers found themselves in a hole early in the second half as E-Town scored eight straight points to extend the lead to 17.
Nile Austin and Beers hit threes to cut the lead to 13, but the Blue Jays went on another big run with 13 in a row to put the game out of reach with a 66-40 lead.
Jalen Glasgow and
Trey Grube knocked down shots in the late minutes of the game, but the Chargers ultimately fell by a score of 59-80.

This marks the third time this season that the Chargers' bench has outscored their starters, occurring previously in both conference games this season at Gallaudet (win) and St. Mary's (Md.) (loss).
