The Lancaster Bible College Women's Basketball team played their first home game in 20 days on Friday night, losing to Gwynedd Mercy by a score of 77-56. The Chargers drop to 1-8 overall and 0-2 in the United East, while the Griffins improve to 7-4 overall.

How it Happened:Â Both teams struggled for the first few minutes as the score was just 2-0 Griffins, but senior
Jenna Dombach scored five straight points off assists from
Alaysha Iwais to put the Chargers up 5-2. Iwais hit a three of her own to give LBC their largest lead of the night at six points, but it was Gwynedd Mercy that went on a giant 16-point scoring run to go up by 10.
Isabella Eufemia ended the half with a three-pointer from
Rachel Nolt, but the Chargers trailed by seven after one.

It was all Griffins early in the second quarter as they outscored the Chargers 14-2 through the first six minutes. GMU led by as much as 20 in the quarter, but Iwais exploded for eight points in the final two minutes, with two made threes to trim the deficit to 10 at halftime.

Raven Hunter opened the scoring for Lancaster Bible in the second half to keep it close, then
Natalie Wenger made a layup to cut the lead to nine. The Chargers closed the third quarter with an 11-4 run, including made shots from Iwais and
Shelby Gard, to make it a four-point game with 10 minutes left to play. The first five minutes remained close in quarter number four, but a consistent flow of makes from Gwynedd Mercy and a tired offense from the Chargers led to a larger margin of victory for the away team as LBC fell, 77-56.
