The Lancaster Bible College men's tennis squad finished out their spring break trip in Hilton Head, S.C. splitting their last two matches. On Wednesday, the Chargers lost in an 0-8 decision to Catholic but bounced back on Thursday against Johnson & Wales with a decisive 7-2 victory. The Chargers now sit at 6-1 overall for the year.
Catholic, 0-8 Loss
The Chargers battled tough against Catholic, but were overpowered, being swept in both the singles and doubles matches. Senior
Devon Clemmer lost the first contest in a close one, 6-7, but dropped the second set 2-6. Senior
AJ Kwiatkowski also lost his first set in a close 6-7 duel and dropped the second set 3-6.
Caleb Cavaiani gave a valiant effort, losing 4-6 in the first set but dropping the second set 1-6. On the doubles side, the combo of
Andrew Moore and Kwiatkowski made things interesting, losing the first set 7-8 and the second set 3-7.
Johnson & Wales, 7-2 Win
After a tough duel with Catholic the day before, the Chargers returned the favor against the Wildcats of Johnson & Wales, winning 7-2. Clemmer got the squad off to a hot start, beating their #1, Millwood, in a tightly contested three sets.
Micah Weaver dropped his match, but teammates

Malachi Bomgardner, Kwiatkowski, and Cavaiani picked up their teammates with wins of their own. Leading 5-1 after singles, the Chargers dropped their first doubles, but responded by winning their last two with the partners of Weaver & Kwiatkowski and Cavaiani & Bomgardner.
