The Lancaster Bible College baseball team hosted visiting Lions of Penn St. Altoona on Tuesday in a non-conference double-header. The Chargers fell in game one 13-2 and in game two 6-0. Following the two losses, the Chargers drop to 8-19 overall while the Lions improve to 10-19 on the year.

Game One, 13-2 Loss

How It Happened: It was slow moving in the first two innings of the game until the Lions scored four runs, three of which were from a home run, in the top of the third inning. With a 4-0 lead, the Lions used two more home runs in the top of the 4
th inning to make it a 7-0 ball game. Junior
Brian Coburn got things going for the Chargers with a solo shot of his own in the 4
th inning followed by
Harrison Hobdy scoring off an error from the pitcher. The Chargers cut the lead to 7-2, but despite the run, the Lions scored six more runs through the remaining three innings, winning 13-2.

By the Numbers: The Chargers had seven hits for two runs and one RBI… the Lions had nine hits for 13 runs and 12 RBIs… the Chargers had one double and one home run… the Lions had two doubles and four home runs…
Evan Sareyka went 2-3 while Coburn went 1-3 with a run and an RBI… Chamberlain, Carey, and Green all had two hits for the Lions.

Game Two, 6-0 Loss

How It Happened: The Chargers looked to turn things around in the second game, but it was all Lions as they scored two in the 3
rd inning and one run in the 5
th, 6
th, and 7
th inning.

By the Numbers: The Chargers had five hits and one walk… the Lions had eight hits for six runs and six RBIs… five Chargers had one hit while
Blake Greenly had the lone double… Hlivia and Green had two hits for the Lions.
