The Lancaster Bible College baseball team squared off against the Penn College Wildcats in the second game of the United East Championship double-elimination tournament. After a 20-2 loss to Penn St. Harrisburg on Thursday, the Chargers were looking to keep the hope alive, but their efforts fell short, losing 14-4 to the Wildcats. The Chargers end the season 16-25 overall and 12-9 in conference while starting just 2-14. The Wildcats sit at 21-19 overall and play Penn St. Abington this evening.

How It Happened: The Chargers got off to a great start as none other than senior
Blake Greenly roped a double down the left field line, bringing in teammates
Dylan Witkowski and
Kaden Hunt in the top of the third inning. Junior
Brian Coburn followed Greenly's lead, sending a long fly ball to center field, scoring Greenly and giving the Chargers a commanding 3-0 lead. In the next inning, Greenly again would bring in Hunt off a sacrifice fly to center field to make it 4-0.
Â
The Wildcats, however, would use two huge innings in the fourth and fifth running out to a 12-4 lead. The Chargers tried to swing the momentum back in favor of keeping the hopes alive, but the Wildcats scored two more runs through the eighth inning to win 14-4 and end the Chargers' 2023 season.
