Lancaster Bible's Men's Basketball team traveled to United East foe Penn St. Berks and took home a commanding 99-92 victory. The Chargers sit just above .500 with a 9-8 record and an impressive 4-1 conference record. On the other hand, the Lions are 2-13 overall and 1-4 in the United East.

How It Happened:Â The Chargers struggled early as they trailed 15-5 just five minutes into the game, but a
Luke Rumbaugh three-pointer sparked a comeback to make it just a one-point deficit for the team. The Lions quickly answered to pull back a 10-point lead following nine unanswered points. Following a scoring run led by seniors
Ty Erisman and
Grant Sareyka, the game became tied up at 31 with less than five minutes remaining in the half. The back-and-forth first half ended with a 10-1 run by the Chargers to take a 45-37 lead going into the half.

Freshman
Connor Storr set the tone for the second half with a hot start, posting eight straight points and a block in just the first four minutes. Both teams continued to trade baskets, but a big highlight came for the Chargers with Sareyka getting a four-point play, a three-pointer plus the foul. Lancaster Bible maintained about a 10-point lead in the first half of the second period, but the Lions made a resurgence to make it a 72-69 game with just over eight minutes remaining.
Seth Beers drilled a late three to give the Chargers a nine-point lead with five minutes remaining. Despite a late push from the Lions, Lancaster Bible held on to the lead with a 99-92 victory.

By the Numbers:Â Grant Sareyka led the Chargers with 30 points, shooting 8-15 (53.3%) from the field, 4-6 (66.7%) from three, and 10-11 (90.9%) from the free throw line.
Connor Storr added 18 points on 7-8 (87.5%) shooting along with five rebounds and a block. Andre Ballard helped the Lions' effort with 28 points.Â

Grant Sareyka now sits at 8
th all-time in scoring for the Chargers with 1,409 points in his collegiate career. He recently passed Dan Hertzler, a 1999 graduate, who has 1,373 points. Sareyka also moved into sole possession of 4th place all-time in steals, now at 192 steals and eight shy of 200 on his career.
