Box Score 1 The Lancaster Bible College Baseball team dropped a non-conference match against the Penn St. Behrend Lions on Monday afternoon, 12-4. The second game was called in the fourth inning due to lack of light leading to the status of "incomplete". The Chargers fall to 1-1 on the season while the Lions win their first game of the season and go to 1-0 overall.
How It Happened: Coming into their second game of the season, the Chargers looked to carry the momentum gained from Friday's victory into Monday. However, the Lions were the first to get on the scoreboard, scoring three runs after two innings including a two-run home run. The Chargers got a run to go as
Harrison Hobdy singled through the middle to bring home
Evan Sareyka, making it 3-1 after just two innings of play.
Entering the third inning, both teams hit one over the fence with the Lions getting a single score and the Chargers bringing in two from Sareyka's long shot. It was all Lions from there though as they went on to post eight more runs through seven innings, with four of those coming in the sixth inning. The Lions went on to win game one 12-4.
By the Numbers: The Chargers tallied seven hits for three RBIs and four runs… the Lions had 12 hits for 12 RBIs and 12 runs… Sareyka went 2-3 with two RBIs and two runs…
Blake Greenly was the only other Charger with an extra-base hit… several Lions had two hits each… Greenly got the loss on the mound, allowing five hits and four earned runs and striking out three batters… Zick got the win on the mound giving up two hits and striking out two batters.
