The Lancaster Bible College Baseball team cruised past fellow United East Conference member Rosemont Ravens in a non-conference game on Tuesday, 21-6. The Chargers are now 6-4 overall while the Ravens fall to 2-8 on the season.
How It Happened: The Chargers posted 13 runs in the first two innings of play, scoring seven runs to start the game followed by six more in the second inning.
Brian Coburn got things started, scoring off an error followed by four singles that brought in five runs. In the second inning, the Chargers got three more singles that brought in four more runs along with two other scores.
The Chargers went on to score eight more runs in the next seven innings while only giving up six runs for the game.
Brian Coburn had a monster game, going 3-3 with three runs and three RBIs. Five other Chargers added two hits apiece and the team combined for 16 total runs batted in. Pitching-wise, the Chargers saw seven different players hit the mound, only giving up 12 hits for six runs and 13 strikeouts.
Evan Sareyka earned the win to go to 2-0 on the season while teammates
Nehemiah Brubacher and
Andrew Workman also struck out three batters each.
