The Lancaster Bible College Men's Volleyball team saw their season ended on Friday night in a 3-0 loss to #3 Wentworth in the first round of the NCAA DIII National Tournament. The Chargers conclude the season 15-14 overall while Wentworth improves to 31-1 overall.
How It Happened: The Chargers were in for a dogfight and they got just that. A Chargers kill from
Jordan Yoder brought the deficit to 12-10 but a rally from the host team pushed the lead to 15-10 again. The two squads continued to trade points but the Chargers were unable to get over the three point deficit as they went on to lose 15-18 in their first set of the 2024 National Tournament.
An 8-1 run to open the second set didn't help the Chargers as they went on to lose the second set 25-15.
Dawson Forney notched four kills while Yoder and
Kevin Bryant had two kills apiece. With their season on the line the Chargers fought but Wentworth proved to be too much taking a commanding 11-3 lead in the third set. The Chargers offense did what they could but went on to lose 25-14.
By the Numbers: The Chargers had 24 kills with two aces and 22 digs… Wentworth had 40 kills, nine aces, and eight total blocks… Yoder had eight kills and five digs… Forney had seven kills and
Hunter Davis added four kills…
Ben Latham had eight digs… Sam Etter led Wentworth with 10 kills.
Congratulations to the Men's Volleyball team on a great 2024 season!
