Men’s Volleyball Downs Eagles in Conference Semifinals

The Lancaster Bible College Men's Volleyball team hosted the number-four seeded Saint Elizabeth Eagles on Wednesday night for the United East Conference Semifinals winning 3-0. The Chargers ended the regular season a perfect 6-0 in conference and improved to 14-13 overall. The Eagles end their 2024 campaign 8-19 in conference and 3-3 in conference play.

How It Happened: The Chargers started the night with an 8-4 lead including back-to-back blocks from Kevin Bryant and Jake Rotelle. Stringing together several more scoring runs, cruised to a 25-8 victory after nine straight points.
Starting the second set with a 7-2 lead, the Chargers won 25-8 on a joint effort offensively. Christian Herr all six of his career high service aces in the second set. The third set happened a little differently as the Eagles battled to keep their season from ending, but the Chargers proved too strong ending the game on a 25-19 win to advance to the United East Conference Championship.

By the Numbers: The Chargers racked up 36 kills with nine aces and nine blocks… the Eagles had 12 kills with 11 assists and 19 digs… Hunter Davis led all hitters with nine kills and five blocks while Jake Rotelle added eight kills… Herr had 29 assists and six aces… Jordan Yoder added five blocks and Ben Latham had nine digs… Kennedy Ibezim led the Eagles with five kills.

Up Next: The Chargers will host the two-seed, Cairn Highlanders, on Saturday, April 13 at 2:00 p.m. for the conference championship and automatic bid to the NCAA DIII Tournament.
