The Lancaster Bible College Men's Tennis Team hosted the Mount Aloysius Mounties on Saturday afternoon to open the fall season. The Chargers fell 6-1 and fall to 0-1 on the season. The Mounties improve to 1-2 overall getting their first win of the season.
How It Happened: Beginning with doubles play, the duo of
Josh Jarvis and
Cameron Tripp earned the Chargers only win in the top slot 6-3. Cole Sheihing and
Cullen Lloyd competed tough in the number two slot but fell 7-6.
In singles play Tripp and
Andrew Kelly had competitve sets but ultimately lost in two. However, freshman
Cullen Lloyd picked up his first career win for the Chargers 6-2, 6-4.Â
No Chargers were able to grab a singles win but Tripp, Lloyd, and
Andrew Kelly each had competitive sets.
From the Coach: "Today was a solid first match overall for the guys," remarked Head Coach
Devon Clemmer.
"I am proud of their effort and fight they displayed. There were a lot of great points and competitive play. We have a lot of room for growth ahead of us as a mens team and lots of competition which will only make us better. I'm excited to see how God uses this team this year!"
