Women’s Volleyball Clinches Postseason at Wilson

The Lancaster Bible College Women's Volleyball team traveled to Chambersburg, Pa. for a United East contest with Wilson, earning a 3-0 sweep and notching their spot in the United East Playoffs. The Chargers improve to 12-9 overall and 7-1 in conference while the Phoenix drop to 0-19 overall and 0-6 in conference.

How it Happened:
Junior Lea Sareyka got the Chargers started with two kills in the first set, then Wilson scored the next three to take the lead 3-2. Senior Riley Dodrer landed a kill to tie the score at five, then three straight service aces from Sareyka propelled the Chargers into the lead at 8-5. It was all Lancaster Bible from there as they had a five-point run ended with a block by freshman Ashby Brummer and then a four-point burst as well, ending the set with four of the final five points with a 25-13 set win.

The Chargers won the first three points of set two with a kill by Jessica Fletcher, then ran the lead up to 7-1 early after back-to-back service aces from sophomore Maggie Kwiatkowski. The Chargers dominated the set as they had two separate runs of eight points with kills from Dodrer, sophomore Madison Reap, and junior Chloe Belford throughout the long runs as LBC cruised to a 25-6 set win.

Set three began with the Chargers gaining a 7-3 lead highlighted by a block from Dodrer and Fletcher and a kill and an ace by Sareyka. The Chargers then broke out their longest run of the match with 11 straight points to secure the advantage as a slew of Phoenix errors and three straight aces from junior Chloe Stenberg helped the Chargers pile on. The final seven points of the set all went to Lancaster Bible as they took the set 25-6 and secured another conference sweep.
