Chargers Close Regular Season with Win on Senior Day

The Lancaster Bible College Men's Basketball team finished their regular season slate on Saturday afternoon, earning a 93-89 win over St. Mary's (Md.) in front of the home crowd. The Chargers improve to 18-7 overall and finish conference play at 13-3, while the Seahawks end at 14-11 overall and 10-6 in United East play.

Before the game, LBC Athletics took time to celebrate Senior Day, honoring the five graduating senior members of the Men's Basketball team including #1 Maureon Tisdale-Couch, #3 Grant Sareyka, #5 Jordan Praylow, #15 Carlos Reynoso, and team manager Jason Swarr.

How it Happened:
The Chargers grabbed their first lead of the game after a pair of free throws and a 3-pointer from sophomore Camden Hurst made it 5-4. LBC secured a lead on a layup from junior Nile Austin, then extended it to eight points on a three by sophomore Connor Storr. The Chargers found their largest lead of the half at 12 points as senior Tyshaun Pulley knocked down a jumper to make it 31-19. The Seahawks fought back in a big way, scoring 11 in a row to cut the lead to just one, then took a three-point lead at 39-36 with three minutes remaining. The Chargers responded with a 6-0 run behind back-to-back scores from Hurst, taking a one-point lead into halftime at 42-41.

St. Mary's (Md.) took the lead back to open the half, then Hurst made a layup to get the lead back and the Chargers never gave it up. Graduate student Jordan Praylow had five second-half assists, finding sophomore Daniel King in transition for a layup to keep LBC on top. Praylow then found junior Luke Rumbaugh on the fastbreak, then Rumbaugh scored again on a pass from Austin to boost the lead to seven. Good free throw shooting by the Seahawks kept them in the game down the stretch, cutting the lead to three at 64-61 before freshman Isaac Smalls drilled an open three to create separation. Late free throws by Hurst, King, Storr, and graduate student Grant Sareyka helped the Chargers secure a four-point win at home.

By the Numbers:
- The Chargers shot 53-percent from the field, 50-percent from deep, and 74-percent on free throws, while the Seahawks shot 50-percent from the field, 44-percent from deep, and 83-percent on free throws
- Camden Hurst led the Chargers with a career-high 33 points on 10-13 shooting and 2-2 on 3-pointers, adding 11-of-15 from the stripe
- Connor Storr added 13 points
- The Seahawks were led by Jake Koverman with a team-high 17 points
