The Lancaster Bible College Baseball team ran to a 21-7 win over the Houghton Highlanders on Tuesday night. The Chargers improve to 5-6 overall and get their first win in Myrtle Beach while the Highlanders fall to 1-3 overall.
How It Happened: The Chargers scored 16 runs through the first three innings of play to take an early 16-5 lead. The 1
st inning featured several walks for scores until
Evan Sareyka stepped up and knocked a double to right field to clear the bases. The Chargers ended the bottom of the 1
st inning with a 9-0 lead.
Malachi Sloane made a significant impact in the next two innings grabbing a two run double in the 2
nd inning and a three run triple in the 3
rd inning.
The Chargers defense were able to hold the Highlanders to just seven runs on the night as
Owen Shimmel pitched six strong innings giving up just eight hits and striking out five batters. Offensively, the Chargers added five more runs after the 3
rd inning to go onto win 21-7.
