The Lancaster Bible College Baseball team traveled to Langhorne, Pa. for an United East Conference matchup with the Cairn Highlanders, their second match of the season losing 10-5. The Chargers are now 17-18 overall and 7-7 in the conference. The Highlanders are 21-12 overall and 9-4 in conference play.
How It Happened: The home team got things rolling early scoring five runs through the first two innings of play. A two run single to left field from
Nick Colarossi scored the Chargers first two runs to close the deficit to 5-2.
Evan Sareyka followed suit in the 3
rd inning with a single of his own to bring the score to 5-3.
It was a five run inning in the bottom of the 4
th inning that pushed the Highlanders ahead 10-3 as the Chargers looked to close the gap. Despite two runs in the 8
th inning from the Chargers, it wasn't enough as the home team went on to win 10-5.
By the Numbers
- The Chargers had 10 hits for five runs and five runs batted in.
- The Highlanders had 11 hits for 10 runs and 10 runs batted in.
