The Lancaster Bible College Men's Basketball team traveled to the nation's capital in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday evening for United East matchup with Gallaudet, cruising to a huge 113-64 victory. The Chargers improve to 12-4 overall and remain unbeaten at 4-0 in conference while the Bison drop to 1-11 overall and 0-5 in United East play.
How it Happened:
The scoring started with a
Daniel King (Jr.) layup just over a minute in, then after almost three minutes without any scoring
Camden Hurst (Jr.) hit a jumper. Gallaudet tied the score at 4-4, but that was the closest they would get as the Chargers would score 15 of the next 19 points to blow the lead wide open, seeing four 3-pointers go down during that span from four different players. Hurst and
Trey Grube (Jr.) added buckets to bump the lead, but the first half belonged to
Mark Heidebrecht (Sr.) for the Chargers as he scored 15 points in the final eight minutes and change, blowing away a career-high in scoring as LBC led by almost 30 at halftime with a 63-34 advantage.
The lead continued to climb in the second half as
Bennett Bowers (So.) had some early points, then Grube hit a pair of threes about a minute apart from each other as LBC led 88-50 with about 13 minutes to play. Grube then added another three, then the Chargers went over five minutes without scoring as the Bison got a few buckets and the lines changed over for the Chargers heading down the stretch.
Tyshaun Pulley (Sr.) helped power LBC late with nine second-half points, then
Marco Cabezas (Jr.) hit a three to put the Chargers past 100 points on the day. Newcomers like
Jayden Thompson (Fr.) and
John Gabrielli (Fr.) cashed in their first career points late in the game as the Chargers closed out a dominant 49-point win on the road to remain unblemished in conference play.
