How it Happened:
The Gators began the scoring before

Tyshaun Pulley scored five including a made 3-pointer and
Connor Storr (Jr.) drove for a score. LBC then got the lead out to 11 points after four from
Mark Heidebrecht and another Hurst bucket, then the Gators came alive as they launched a big 13-2 scoring run to tie the game at 21-21 at the midway point of the half. The Gators swung back in front before Hurst hit a jumper, then the Gators got five in a row to go up four on LBC at 29-25. A Hurst layup got the Chargers within one, then scores on two straight possessions gave Notre Dame (Md.) their largest lead of the half at six.
Nile Austin put LBC back in front with a pair of free throws, then hit a three and Storr hit a layup to swing their lead up to six points. A made three in the final minute by
Reaves Hooks put the Chargers up 45-38 over the Gators at halftime.
Â
The Gators quickly trimmed the deficit to three to open the second half before Hooks got a layup to go, then Notre Dame (Md.) tied the game at 51 before Storr answered with a made three. The Gators then went on an 8-0 run to take a five-point lead then Storr and
Nas Joy (Fr.) got it back to one on free throws before they made it five once again. Down six with under nine to play, Pulley made a layup and Austin knocked down a three to cut it to 67-66, then
Bennett Bowers (So.) hit a three to tie it at 69 with seven minutes to play. A three by Hurst and a bucket by Storr got the Chargers up five points, then back-to-back scores by King kept the lead there at 85-80. Bowers helped seal the game down the stretch with 12 made free throws in the final five minutes, earning the Chargers a six-point win at home and their tenth United East win of the year.
