The United East Conference released their weekly award winners for last week on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning, with the Chargers placing three players on the list with two Baseball athletes sweeping the week, including senior
Evan Sareyka earning Player of the Week and freshman
Trey Luminella earning Pitcher of the Week, as well as Men's Indoor Track & Field freshman
Ethan Gonzalez landing Field Athlete of the Week. This is the first career Player of the Week honor for all three athletes and the eighth time in the 2025-2026 year that at least three LBC student-athletes have claimed weekly honors.

Sareyka helped the Chargers jump-start their season on Saturday afternoon in their first games of 2026, splitting a road double-header with Eastern as they lost game one 7-6 and took game two 6-4 for their first win. Evan led the charge in both games, hitting a combined 5-7 on the day for a .714 average and a 2.179 OPS with four RBI. Sareyka knocked three hits in game one including a double and a two-run home run, scoring twice in a close one-run loss. Then, he added two hits in game two including a double and a two-RBI single in the fifth inning.

Luminella shined in his Chargers debut on Saturday, starting on the mound in game two for Lancaster Bible and throwing 4.0 scoreless innings on just one hit allowed. Trey did walk three batters, but struck out four in his first game en route to his first career win in a 6-4 LBC victory. Luminella's ERA sits at a perfect 0.00 after one game with an opponent batting average of just .091 and a 1.00 WHIP.

Gonzalez had the best performance of his young career on Friday at the Golden Bear Invitational hosted by Kutztown University, placing first in the High Jump with a height of 1.83 meters. Winning the event, Ethan's jump was the best by a Charger so far this season and ranks him fourth in the United East Conference in the event heading into this Friday's championship meet.
Â
Sareyka, Luminella, and the rest of the Baseball team have a double-header on the road against Penn College on Saturday, February 28 in non-conference play beginning at 12:00 p.m. For Gonzalez and the Men's Indoor Track & Field team, this Friday, February 27 the indoor season culminates in the United East Indoor Championships in Landover, Md. as both teams compete alongside the other four conference schools for the team titles.
