The Lancaster Bible College Baseball team resumed action on Saturday afternoon as they traveled to face Penn College in a non-conference double-header, winning game one 9-2 before falling in game two 12-3. The Chargers move to 2-2 overall while the Wildcats began their season at 1-1 overall.

How it Happened:
The teams combined for three hits but no score through the first two innings, then the Chargers opened the scoring in the top of the 3rd in a big way as the bases were loaded for
Nate Rosenzweig (Jr.), who blasted a grand slam for four RBI and a Chargers lead. The Wildcats got on the board with one in the 4th inning, then the Chargers quickly got two more in the 5th as
Shane Stephan (Jr.) and
Evan Sareyka (Sr.) hit back-to-back home runs with one out to extend the lead to 6-1. After another Penn College run in the 6th, then in the top of the 7th Sareyka added another RBI on a sacrifice fly to make it 7-2. With two outs in the inning and the bases loaded,
Joey Stein (So.) hit a single to drive in two runs as an error got another to go, helping LBC close out a 9-2 victory on the road.

The Chargers struck first as
Evan Sareyka grounded into a fielder's choice that scored
Dylan Witkowski (Sr.), then the Wildcats matched with one in the bottom of the 1st. The Chargers retook the lead in the top of the 2nd as
CJ Peterson (So.) roped a RBI-single to left field, but the Wildcats answered with two runs in the bottom frame including an error by the Chargers to take the lead 3-2. Penn College blew it open from there, adding three more runs in the 4th and then six total runs in the 5th as they led by double-digits. The Chargers mustered one more run in the top of the 7th off a RBI-single by
Joey Stein, but ultimately fell 12-3 to come to a double-header split.
