The United East Conference released their weekly award winners for last week on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning, with the Chargers placing three players on the list with Men's Volleyball senior
Nicholas Marion earning Defensive Player of the Week, Men's Indoor Track & Field junior
David Helms earning Track Athlete of the Week, and Women's Indoor Track & Field junior
Elly Bruner earning Field Athlete of the Week. This marks the sixth time this season that at least three Charger athletes have earned weekly honors, being the ninth Track & Field honor for Helms, fourth for Bruner, and second for Marion.

Marion earned his first Player of the Week honor this season after putting up 40 total digs across three matches for the Chargers this past week. He recorded 10+ digs in all three matches, including a career-high 17 digs in a four-set loss to Elizabethtown on Saturday. Nicholas also had 12 digs in a five-set loss to Stevenson on the road on Thursday and finished with 11 digs in a three-set win over Widener on Saturday. Marion leads the United East Conference in total digs this season with 85 and is currently fourth in digs per set at 2.93, recording double-digit digs in six out of eight matches so far this year.

This is David's fifth career weekly honor of this season, continuing to lead the way in the United East in distance events. Helms took home first-place in the 3,000-Meters on Saturday at the PLEX Shootout hosted by Alvernia, finishing with a time of 8:57.72 and winning the event by five seconds. David also placed 21st in the 800-Meters as he set a new personal record at 2:05.86 and was part of a first-place team finish for the Chargers in the Distance Medley Relay, running the final leg and helping LBC win the race with a time of 11:28.75 for a new program record. Helms currently ranks first in the conference in four different events, those being the 800-Meters, the Mile, the 3,000-Meters, and the 5,000-Meters, also ranking first in the NCCAA in the 5,000-Meters.

Bruner continued her impressive debut season with the Chargers with her fourth consecutive weekly honor, earning two top-3 finishes at the PLEX Shootout at Alvernia on Saturday. Elly placed second in the Long Jump with a distance of 5.39 Meters, marking a new lifetime-PR and a new LBC program record. She also placed third in the High Jump with a height of 1.60 Meters, tying a season-best and personal record. Bruner ranks first in the United East in both High Jump and Long Jump and is second in the Triple Jump, adding to her rankings in the NCCAA as she ranks second in the High Jump and fourth in the Long Jump.

Marion and the Men's Volleyball team have a full week of action with three matches as they begin by hosting #4-ranked Messiah at 7:00 p.m. tonight in the Horst Athletic Center, followed by a road tri-match on Saturday, February 7 as they take on Roberts Wesleyan and Geneva (Pa.) starting at 2:30 p.m. For Helms, Bruner, and the rest of the Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field teams, the Chargers' next destination will be the NCCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday, February 13 and Saturday, February 14 hosted by Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio.
