Chargers Begin Outdoor Season at Lebanon Valley

The Lancaster Bible College Men's and Women's Track & Field teams kicked off their 2026 Outdoor Season on Saturday as they traveled to compete in the LVC Outdoor Mini Meet hosted by Lebanon Valley College. The Chargers saw three school records fall, five NCCAA qualifications by four different athletes, and three first-place finishers to begin the Outdoor season strong.
 
Track Action
 
The Men's team had one school record on the track as Gavin Hunter (Fr.) placed sixth in the 400-Meters, finishing with a time of 53.23 to break the record by nine hundredths of a second. Hunter also ran in the 200-Meters, placing 11th with a time of 23.46 while six other Chargers competed in the event as well. In the distance events, David Helms (Jr.) earned a first-place finish in the 1,500-Meters with a personal-best time of 4:08.80, winning the event by 15 seconds and ranking him first in the United East and fifth in the NCCAA so far in the event. Ethan Dell (So.) made his LBC debut in the event as he finished seventh with a time of 4:34.67, with Jay Royal (Jr.) finishing 18th and Victor Hanley (Fr.) running the race in 5:04.52 in his first outdoor meet.
 
The Women's team saw four total top-10 finishes in track action as Abby Ames (Jr.) placed third in the 1,500-Meters with a time of 5:19.40, ranking her first in the United East in the event. Also running in the event were Seana Dougherty (So.) and Cadee Cameron (So.) with Dougherty landing in sixth-place with a time of 5:24.20 and Cameron placing ninth at 5:28.99. In the 400-Meters, Kylee Antrim (So.) placed ninth with a time of 1:10.16, while Faith Garber (Jr.) finished in ninth in the 100M Hurdles at 21.82 and 12th in the 200-Meters with a time of 29.40.
 
Field Action
 
The Men's Team had three NCCAA qualifiers and one school record in field events, seeing Aidan Miller hit the NCCAA-qualifying mark in the Triple Jump with a mark of 12.88 Meters, winning the event as well. The Javelin Throw saw two top-10 finishers for LBC as Kyle Durkin (So.) set a new program record with a throw of 55.90 Meters, earning him second in the event and qualifying for NCCAA. Hudson Gosselin (Fr.) also qualified for NCCAA in the Javelin Throw, placing eighth with a distance of 51.77 Meters and finished 10th in Hammer Throw at 37.23 Meters. Gosselin also led the Chargers in the Discus Throw at 33.50 Meters for an 18th-place finish and threw for 11.08 Meters in the Shot Put, with Emery McCombs (So.) leading the Chargers at seventh-place in the event at 12.13 Meters and 11th in Hammer Throw at 37.22 Meters. In the High Jump, Chase Gerber (Jr.) placed fourth with a height of 1.72 Meters while Ethan Gonzalez (Fr.) placed fifth at 1.67 Meters. Micah Richardson (Sr.) placed sixth in the Long Jump with a personal-best mark of 6.21 Meters and ninth in the Pole Vault at 3.14 Meters.
 
The Women's team had a pair of NCCAA qualifications by newcomer Elly Bruner (Jr.), winning the High Jump with a height of 1.47 Meters for first place outright and placing third in the Triple Jump with a distance of 9.87 Meters, breaking the school record in the Triple Jump. Bruner also tied the program record in the Long Jump with a distance of 4.94 Meters, finishing tied for third in the event at the meet. Martha Weaver placed second in the Shot Put with a throw of 10.89 Meters and placed fourth in the Hammer Throw with a distance of 36.09 Meters, adding an eighth-place finish in the Discus Throw at 28.66 Meters for a trifecta of top-10 finishes. McKayla Vetterani (So.) also finished in the top-10 in the Discus Throw, placing ninth at 27.25 Meters for a personal record.
