The Lancaster Bible College Softball team finished out their Spring Break trip in North Myrtle Beach, S.C. with a pair of victories, defeating Martin Luther 7-5 and completing a comeback win over Lycoming 5-4. The Chargers return to Lancaster at 5-4 overall while the Knights fall to 1-8 overall and the Warriors to 3-3 overall.

How it Happened:
The Knights got going right away with a run in the 1st inning, then the Chargers got even in the bottom of the 2nd as
Amanda Hoover (Sr.) hit a single to center to score
KariAnn Mecke (Jr.), tying the game at 1-1. The next inning, the Chargers took the lead when Avan Stern (Fr.) reached on an error that scored a run, then
Maddison Atkins (Sr.) singled through the left side, scoring Stern for a 3-1 Chargers lead. The Knights added one in the next frame after an error led to a score, but the 4th inning proved to be pivotal for the Chargers as all nine batters came to the plate. One by one the runs poured in, starting on a RBI-double by
Rebekah Hoover (Fr.) and followed by a groundout that scored
Brigietta Rendon (So.). Then, Stern singled up the middle to drive in Hoover, then to cap it off
Ila Rowatti (So.) lined a single to left center for another run, ending the four-run 4th for the Chargers. Martin Luther got one back in the 5th and put together a one-out rally in the 7th to cut the lead to two, but the Chargers closed the door to secure a 7-5 victory.

How it Happened:
Lycoming used one hit in the first to grab the early lead, then added another in the 2nd to take a two-run lead over LBC. The next frame, the Chargers came alive as they loaded the bases for
Ava Stern, who dribbled one back to the pitcher with no play on the ball as
Grace Goodman (So.) scored to get the Chargers on the board. Then,
Ila Rowatti reached on an error with the bases loaded, scoring
Rebekah Hoover to tie the game up at two in the 3rd inning. Lycoming then stepped up on defense, holding the Chargers hitless over the next three innings as they added two more runs to go back up 4-2 heading into the top of the 7th. Backs against the wall, the Chargers began to click as Goodman and Hoover each had base hits, then with one out Stern lined a single to right center to score Hoover and pull LBC within one. Maddison Atkins, hitting a sacrifice fly to score
Carleigh Cleland (Jr.) and tie the game at four. Then,
Amanda Hoover came through for the Chargers with a single up the middle, scoring Stern and vaulting LBC on top 5-4 on their final chance of the game. Lycoming led off the bottom of the 7th with a hit, but the Chargers retired the next three to end the game on a comeback win to end their trip in North Myrtle Beach.
