The Lancaster Bible College Softball team traveled to Stevenson, Md. to take on Stevenson in a road double-header on Thursday afternoon, falling twice by scores of 7-5 and 10-9. The Chargers drop to 13-8 overall and 6-0 in the United East while the Mustangs improve to 10-12 overall and 2-6 in the MAC Commonwealth.

How it Happened:
The Chargers struck right away in the 1st inning as
Maddison Atkins (Sr.) hit a double to right field, scoring
Ava Stern (Fr.) for the early LBC lead. The Chargers added another in the 2nd as
Ila Rowatti (So.) hit a RBI-single up the middle, extending the LBC lead to 2-0. Stevenson then used a big bottom of the 2nd to score three runs, powering ahead to take the lead. After several scoreless frames, the Chargers got going in the 5th as Stern drove in a run on a single and Atkins knocked in her second RBI on a single the next batter, retaking the lead 4-3. The Mustangs put together a strong 6th inning in response later on, retaking the lead 7-5 with four hits and one LBC error, holding on in the 7th despite another LBC run to earn the game-one win.

How it Happened:
Stevenson jumped on the board early, racing out to a 4-0 lead in the 1st inning to take control of the game. The Chargers, however, had a big answer in the 2nd, starting with
Grace Goodman (So.) reaching on an error to get the Chargers on the board. Two batters later,
Rebekah Hoover (Fr.) hit a single to right field, leading to the bases clearing out and three more runs scoring, tying the game at 4-4. Then,
Ava Stern hit a double to center field, scoring Hoover and giving the Chargers the lead. The Mustangs answered right away to tie the game back up at 5-5, then later in the 4th inning got two to go as they went back up on LBC by two. LBC tied it right back up in the 5th as
Maddison Atkins hit a RBI-single and
Keira Price (So.) brought another home on a sacrifice fly, making it a 7-7 ballgame. The Chargers then retook the lead in the 6th as Hoover came through again with a 2-RBI single, putting LBC up 9-7 on the road. The Mustangs, however, rallied in the bottom of the 7th with four hits and two walks, scoring the game-winning run on a single to left and walking off the Chargers in game two 10-9.
