The Lancaster Bible College Field Hockey team played their first road match of the 2026 season as they traveled to Baltimore, Md. on Wednesday night to take on Goucher, falling by a score of 6-0. The Chargers drop to 1-3 overall while the Gophers get their first win, moving to 1-4 overall.
Â
How it Happened:
The Gophers took control from the jump as they scored two goals in the first four minutes, taking three shots early as
Amelia Huey (Gr.) made one save. The Chargers drew the first penalty corner of the game but could not capitalize, holding the Gophers for the rest of the quarter.
Â
Early in the second quarter, Goucher drew two corners and punched in another score about five minutes in, increasing the lead to 3-0. The Chargers were held without a shot in the first half as they trailed by the same score heading into halftime.
Â
Lauren Stup (Fr.) came in at goal in the second half, making one save in the third quarter as the LBC defense held Goucher to just two shots, making one in as they added a fourth goal in the period.
Â
Another score early in the fourth quarter gave Goucher another, then after two penalty corners by the Chargers,
Riley Danko (Sr.) had a shot that was blocked. The Gophers turned it around and added another score, then
Gracie Hoffman (So.) fired a shot on goal that was saved by the Gophers' keeper. Stup made two more saves for the Chargers, but Goucher cruised to their first victory of the season at home.
