The Lancaster Bible College Field Hockey team began their 2026 season at home on Friday afternoon as they hosted Houghton, losing by a score of 9-0. The Chargers begin their season at 0-1 overall while the Highlanders improve to 1-1 overall.

How it Happened:
The Chargers earned a penalty corner in the first two minutes, then
Riley Danko (Sr.) struck a pair of shots that missed wide. Goalkeeper
Amelia Huey (Gr.) made a pair of saves several minutes later, but the Highlanders broke through as they scored the opening goal around 13 minutes in to take the lead heading into the second quarter.

Houghton added another pair of goals in the first seven minutes of quarter two to seize momentum in the match, controlling the entire quarter as they added another to take a 4-0 road lead into the half.

The Highlanders struck quick in the third quarter after scoring just 31-seconds in, holding the ball before scoring another at the 37-minute mark for a 6-0 lead.
Grace Barnett (Jr.) and
Rebekah Hoover (So.) each made defensive saves for the Chargers to limit the damage, but still trailed big heading into the final period.

Lauren Stup (Fr.) made a save for LBC in goal early in the fourth quarter, followed by an attack on goal by
Gracie Hoffman (So.) that was saved. The Highlanders added two more goals in quick succession before one final goal with two minutes remaining to seal a big road win on Friday afternoon.
