2024: Brian Coburn played in 38 games with 36 starts in his final season, with 123 at-bats and nine appearances as a pitcher. At the plate, he posted a .293 average with 36 hits and nine for extra bases, including four home runs with a two-homer game on senior day versus Penn St. Abington on April 27. Coburn had four 3-hit games and two games with four runs scored, drawing a team-high 31 walks for a .437 on-base percentage. His 31 walks led the entire United East Conference, showing his discipline at the plate. On the mound, Coburn threw 26 2/3 innings with a 9.45 ERA, finishing with a 2-2 record and 24 strikeouts. Coburn earned a United East All-Conference 2nd Team selection, making him an all-conference player in all four of his seasons. Brian went 4-14 with four runs scored in the United East Playoffs to finish his career in a Charger uniform. Over four years, he compiled 152 hits, 98 RBI, 20 doubles, five triples, and 16 home runs, with a 12-8 record as a pitcher, a 6.10 career ERA, and 102 strikeouts.
2023: Coburn was a force to be reckoned with in the box and on the mound in 2023, starting 40 games for the Chargers. He batted .294 with 42 hits and 36 runs scored, hitting five doubles, one triple, and four home runs, including a two-homer game on May 5 against Wells College. Brian finished with 11 multi-hit games and 10 games scoring multiple times, adding 22 walks and a team-high four sacrifice flies and 28 total RBIs. Coburn's bread and butter for the season was on the mound as he pitched in 12 games with six starting appearances. He led the Chargers in the regular season in many categories with a team-low 2.72 ERA, a 1.06 WHIP, five wins for a 5-2 overall record, three complete games, and 53.0 innings pitched. He recorded 39 total strikeouts to just 11 walks and only threw one wild pitch, and in eight of his twelve appearances he threw for 3+ innings. He was one of the top pitchers in the conference as he finished second in ERA and complete games, seventh in innings pitched, and 10th in strikeouts. Coburn racked up the postseason awards as he was named to the United East All-Conference 1st Team, United East All-Sportsmanship Team, and was recognized as the conference Pitcher of the Year for his fantastic stint on the mound. He also earned a regional honor as a member of the
D3Baseball.com All-Region IV 2nd Team.
2022: Brian Coburn continued to be an important piece of the Chargers' squad, playing in 34 games in 2022. At the plate, he was third on the team with a .369 batting average and was one of three Chargers with 50+ hits, knocking 52 of them and driving in a team-high 38 RBIs. He had 19 extra-base hits, including eight doubles, seven home runs, and a team-leading four triples. On the bases, he drew 10 walks and stole 13 bases on 15 attempts. On the bump, Coburn made 12 pitching appearances, posting a 6.26 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP, finishing with a 3-1 record and 23 innings pitched. He struck out 18 batters and walked just four, giving him a 4.5 to 1 K/BB ratio, the second-highest for LBC. Brian Coburn capped off his great sophomore campaign with a selection to the United East All-Conference 1st Team, one of three Chargers to receive an All-Conference nod. He was also selected to the United East All-Sportsmanship Team for his impact on the field.
2021: Coburn played in 21 games for the Chargers during the 2021 season. He posted a .289 batting AVG, recording 22 hits, including two doubles and a home run. Coburn stole four bases, drew 14 walks, and drove in eight runs. As a pitcher, Coburn pitched 32 innings and posted a 2-2 record for the Chargers in six outings, striking out 21 batters. With his performance in 2021, Brian Coburn earned his first All-Conference selection, being named to the NEAC All-Conference 2nd Team as a freshman.
