Three Straight Wins for Men's Tennis

The Lancaster Bible College men's tennis team won its third straight match on Tuesday, defeating Bryn Athyn, 9-0. The shutout was the first for the Chargers in program history. LBC is now 5-6 this spring season and 5-8 for the 2011-12 season.

The Chargers swept the doubles matches with ease as the number one team of Alex Derus and Grant Noel won, 8-1, while the number two doubles team of Jeremy Davis and Collin George won 8-0. The number three doubles team of Brandon Cutler and Dan Soden also won, defeating Graham Cermitte and Kyle Watters, 8-2.

LBC had relative ease with the singles matches as well, with the only trouble coming at number one singles for Derus who held off Micah Alden, 7-5 in the first set before cruising, 6-1 in the second set.

Derus, Noel, Davis, Ko, George and Phil Smock will represent the Chargers this weekend at the NEAC Tennis Championships in Clarks Summit, Pa.
