Productive Saturday for Chargers

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 The Lancaster Bible women's volleyball team spent Saturday in the Garden State and pulled off two wins in three matches to improve their record to 11-16 this season. Below is a recap of each of their matches. The Chargers are back in action on Tuesday when they will face Gettysburg and Bryn Mawr in Bryn Mawr, Pa.

Lancaster Bible 3, Rutgers-Camden 2
22-25, 25-15, 25-18, 19-25, 15-13

The Chargers improved to 2-1 in five-set matches this season as they downed the Raptors, 3-2. Junior Katie Coomber had a season-high 23 kills and 26 digs to lead LBC, while Hannah Metzler and Rachel Olson each added eight kills. Grace Scheuerman added 22 digs, while Olson had 24. 


Lancaster Bible 3, Gwynedd-Mercy 0
25-17, 25-15, 25-11

Sophomore Aubrey Folger had seven kills on 12 attempts with no errors as LBC swept the Griffins, 3-0. LBC had 17 aces in the match, five of which came from Rachel Olson. Grace Scheuerman, Tricia Coale and Coomber each added three aces.


FDU-Florham 3, Lancaster Bible 1
19-25, 25-12, 25-15, 25-17

The Chargers took the first set from the Devils, but couldn't hold the momentum as FDU-Florham won the final three sets played for the 3-1 victory. Coomber once again powered the Chargers as she had 15 kills and 16 digs. Olson added 23 more digs, while Metzler had 23 assists and 20 digs. 

"I thought we worked hard all day and played pretty well, but need to continue working on our mental toughness when we face adversity," Chargers Head Coach Lauren Bewley said about the day.
