The Lancaster Bible men's tennis team earned its seventh victory of the season on Tuesday, as they defeated Albright, 6-3 in Reading, Pa. The Chargers finished the year 6-3 on the road and just 1-4 at home.
Against the Lions, the Chargers took two of the three doubles matches as all were tightly contested.
Alex Ko and
Jeremy Davis won their number one doubles match, 8-6, while
Alex Derus and
Justin Bendo came up just short at number two doubles as they lost, 9-8 (7-4).
Dan Soden and
Tedd Holbrook earned LBC's other point in doubles as they won at number three, 8-6.
In singles,
Alex Ko won at number one, 7-5, 6-3, while
Alex Derus came back to win his number two singles match after dropping the first set. Derus won, 5-7, 6-4, 6-1, while Davis cruised at number three singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Dan Soden picked up the final point for LBC as he won his singles match at number five, 6-4, 6-2.
The Chargers will be well represented at the NEAC Championships this weekend as six LBC players will make the trip to Clarks Summit, Pa.
Alex Ko will be seeded fourth in the number two singles tournament, while he and
Jeremy Davis will be the third seed at number two doubles. Davis is also the fourth seed in the number four singles tournament, while
Tedd Holbrook will be the final LBC player to take the court as he is the fourth seed in the number six singles tournament.
Holbrook and doubles partner,
Dan Soden, will be the fourth seed in the number three doubles tournament, while
Alex Derus and
Grant Noel will be the fourth seed in the number one doubles tournament. The men's individual tournament gets under way on Friday morning at 8 a.m.
