The Lancaster Bible men's tennis team opened the home portion of its schedule on Thursday and lost to Neumann, 6-3. A year after the Chargers shocked the Knights in Aston, Pa., Lancaster Bible could never gain the momentum it needed to make a charge on Thursday.
Lancaster Bible's number one doubles team of
Alex Derus and
Alex Ko stayed perfect this season as they defeated Dustin Broom and Travis Hall, 8-4. Neumann won the other two doubles matches and took a 2-1 lead into the singles matches.
Derus, playing number two singles this week, improved to 3-0 as he won, 6-1, 6-4 over Broom. The Chargers'
Chandler Gillman earned the other Lancaster Bible point as he defeated Jimmie Ferguson, 6-2, 6-4 at number six singles.
The Chargers (1-2) are back in action next Wednesday when they host Albright at 3 p.m. The match, like all Lancaster Bible home matches, will be played at Linden Hall School in Lititz, Pa.
