The Lancaster Bible men's tennis team got back into the win column on Tuesday as the Chargers took down Bryn Athyn, 7-2 at Linden Hall School in Lititz, Pa. The Chargers led just 2-1 after doubles action as Lancaster Bible won number one and number two doubles, but dropped three doubles. Any chance of a Bryn Athyn comeback was quickly put to rest however as number one
Alex Ko, number two
Alex Derus and number three
Dan Soden easily won their singles matches.
Ko and Derus won 8-0 at number one doubles to improve to 4-1 this season, while Soden and
Tedd Holbrook won 8-3 at number two doubles matches. The number three doubles team of
Cody Rupp and
Chandler Gillman lost a tough match, 8-6.
Ko won his number one singles match, 6-1, 6-0, while Derus did him one better as he won his number two singles match, 6-0, 6-0. Soden also won easily, 6-0, 6-1, while Holbrook had to work a bit more for his victory, but still came out on top, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2. Gillman lost a tough match at number five singles, as he fell, 6-4, 4-6, 10-3 with the third set being a 10-game super tie-breaker. Rupp wrapped up singles play with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-0 victory at number six singles.
The Chargers (2-3) return to action on Friday when they travel to Abington, Pa. to take on Penn St. Abington at 12 p.m.
