The Lancaster Bible men's tennis team won for the first time in 10 days as they defeated Keuka, 8-1 in Keuka Park, N.Y. on Friday.
The number one doubles team of
Alex Derus and
Alex Ko got back to their winning ways as they swept Justin Fries and Julian Diaz, 8-0.
Dan Soden and
Tedd Holbrook won at number two doubles, 8-1 and
Cody Rupp and
Justin Bendo completed the doubles sweep with an 8-6 victory at number three doubles.
Derus kicked off the singles portion of the match with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at number one singles, while Ko won 6-0, 6-0 at number two. Soden matched Derus with his victory of 6-1, 6-1 at number three singles and Holbrook won an eight-game pro-set at number four singles, 8-1.
Chandler Gillman also won with a 6-4, 6-0 victory at number five singles, while Rupp lost a tough match at number six, 8-4.
The Chargers (3-6, 1-3 NEAC) will face non-conference opponent Oswego State on Saturday in Aurora, N.Y. The match will be played on the campus of Wells College and will take place after the Lancaster Bible women's tennis match has concluded against Wells.
