With the Lancaster Bible men's tennis team scheduled to play just one North Eastern Athletic Conference match this weekend, the Chargers scheduled a non-conference match for Saturday with an opponent they may never see again. With the Lancaster Bible women's tennis team playing at Wells at 11 a.m. on Saturday, the Chargers took on nearby Oswego State following the women's match and lost 6-3 to the Lakers.
The number one doubles team of
Alex Derus and
Alex Ko got the Chargers on the board with an 8-1 victory, but Oswego State took the other two doubles match to take a 2-1 victory into singles play.
Derus and Ko continued their winning ways in singles play as Derus won his number one singles match 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 over Ben Weiss, while Ko defeated Mike Owens, 6-3, 6-1. Chargers junior
Dan Soden lost a tough three-set match at number three singles as he fell 7-5, 0-6, 6-3 to Tim Van Hine, Jr.
Lancaster Bible (3-7, 1-3 NEAC) will wrap-up the regular season portion of its schedule on Monday when the Chargers host Eastern at 3:30 p.m. The match will be played at Linden Hall School in Lititz, Pa.
