A day after winning its first match of the season, the Lancaster Bible men's tennis team lost to Lycoming, 7-2 on Wednesday in Williamsport, Pa. The loss drops the Chargers to 1-6 this season, while Lycoming is now 4-4.
The host Warriors took all three doubles matches, including back-to-back, 8-5 wins at number one and number two doubles. The Steiner brothers of Lancaster Bible, Jared and Jason, dropped their number three doubles match, 8-2.
Jason Steiner would get some revenge in singles however as he posted a 9-8 (8-6) victory over Alhoun Lundy at number six singles. Senior
Nathan Grimley secured the other point for Lancaster Bible as he won his number three singles match, 6-1, 3-6, 11-9. Senior
Tedd Holbrook fought hard at number one singles, but ultimately lost to Bryce Jones, 6-4, 6-2.Â
Lancaster Bible returns to the court on Friday when the Chargers open North Eastern Athletic Conference play with a match against Penn College. The match, set to be played at Linden Hall School in Lititz, Pa., will begin at 3:30 p.m.
