The Lancaster Bible men's tennis team lost its second straight match on Tuesday as the Chargers lost a hard-fought match to Eastern, 6-3 at Linden Hall School in Lititz, Pa. The Chargers are now 2-8 this season, while Eastern improved to 5-5.
Eastern won number one and two doubles and appeared headed to a number three doubles victory as Eastern's Jackson Wetherbee and Antonio Lopez led Lancaster Bible's
Nathan Grimley and
Jared Steiner, 7-4, but Grimley and Steiner battled back and won the final five points to win the third doubles match, 9-7.
Evan Holbrook played well at number three singles, but lost a tough match in a super-tie-breaker, 3-6, 6-1, 10-8. Grimley, riding the momentum from his doubles victory, won at number four singles as he defeated Vusiszwe Ntonga, 4-6, 6-3, 10-5.Â
Ming Bowser, like Holbrook, lost in a super-tie-breaker at number five singles, 6-2, 2-6, 10-8. Jason Stiner won his number six singles match, 6-4, 6-2 over Antonio Lopez.Â
Lancaster Bible is back on the court on Wednesday as the Chargers host Penn St. Berks at 3:30 p.m. The match will be played at Linden Hall School in Lititz, Pa.
