Nittany Lions Too Much for Chargers

The Lancaster Bible men's tennis team suffered its second North Eastern Athletic Conference loss of the season on Wednesday as the Chargers lost to Penn St. Berks, 8-1 at Linden Hall School in Lititz, Pa. The Chargers are now 2-9 overall and 1-2 in conference action, while the Nittany Lions are now 6-5 overall and 2-0 in NEAC play.

Lancaster Bible was steamrolled in doubles action as Penn St. Berks won all three matches by an overall score of 24-3. Jesse Weaver and Evan Holbrook fared best for the Chargers at number two doubles as they lost, 8-2.

Nathan Grimley earned the lone win for the Chargers on Wednesday as he won his number four singles match over Angel Negron, 7-5, 6-3. Grimley is now 5-4 this season in singles action and has won five of his last six matches. Jason Steiner played well in his number six singles match, but eventually lost to Owen Jones, 6-0, 6-3.

Lancaster Bible returns to the court on Saturday as the Chargers travel to Keuka Park, N.Y. to face Keuka. The match is set to begin at 10 a.m.
