The Lancaster Bible men's tennis team suffered its second North Eastern Athletic Conference loss of the season on Wednesday as the Chargers lost to Penn St. Berks, 8-1 at Linden Hall School in Lititz, Pa. The Chargers are now 2-9 overall and 1-2 in conference action, while the Nittany Lions are now 6-5 overall and 2-0 in NEAC play.
Lancaster Bible was steamrolled in doubles action as Penn St. Berks won all three matches by an overall score of 24-3.
Jesse Weaver and
Evan Holbrook fared best for the Chargers at number two doubles as they lost, 8-2.
Nathan Grimley earned the lone win for the Chargers on Wednesday as he won his number four singles match over Angel Negron, 7-5, 6-3. Grimley is now 5-4 this season in singles action and has won five of his last six matches.
Jason Steiner played well in his number six singles match, but eventually lost to Owen Jones, 6-0, 6-3.
Lancaster Bible returns to the court on Saturday as the Chargers travel to Keuka Park, N.Y. to face Keuka. The match is set to begin at 10 a.m.
