The Lancaster Bible men's tennis team celebrated Senior Day on Friday and the Chargers' three seniors all earned victories helping Lancaster Bible defeat Delaware Valley, 9-0 at Linden Hall School in Lititz, Pa. The win is the second straight for the Chargers who are now 4-9 this season.
Lancaster Bible breezed through doubles action as the Chargers outscored the Aggies by a combined score of 24-5 over the three matches. Senior
Tedd Holbrook and
Cody Rupp won at number one singles, 8-4, while the number two team of senior
Jesse Weaver and
Evan Holbrook earned an 8-1 victory. The number three team of senior
Nathan Grimley and
Jared Steiner earned the 8-0 shutout as the Chargers took command of the match.
Singles play featured much of the same as the Chargers had little trouble.
Tedd Holbrook won 6-0, 6-0 at number one singles, while Weaver earned a 6-4, 6-1 victory at number two. Grimley won his match at number three singles, 6-0, 6-0 and
Evan Holbrook was a 6-4, 6-0 winner at number four singles.
Ming Bowser won his number five singles match, 6-2, 6-1 and
Jason Steiner earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory at number six.
Lancaster Bible wraps up the regular season on Saturday as the Chargers travel to Bryn Athyn, Pa. to face Bryn Athyn at 12 p.m. The North Eastern Athletic Conference team and individual tournament will be held late next week and next weekend in Clarks Summit, Pa.Â
