Chargers Blanked by Nittany Lions

The Lancaster Bible men's tennis team suffered its first North Eastern Athletic Conference loss on Wednesday as the Chargers fell to Penn St. Abington, 9-0 in Abington, Pa. Lancaster Bible is now 2-7 overall this season and 1-1 in NEAC action. Penn St. Abington improved to 5-6 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

Penn St. Abington breezed to three doubles victories as the number one doubles team of Daniel Fabrick and Tedd Holbrook lost, 8-1, as did the number three team from Lancaster Bible, Nathan Grimley and Jared Steiner. Jesse Weaver and Evan Holbrook took an 8-0 loss at number two doubles.

Grimley put up a great fight at number five singles, but lost 7-5, 6-2 to JT Kling, while Jason Stiner played well in his number six singles loss, 7-5, 6-0. Holbrook suffered a 6-4, 6-2 setback at number two singles, while Weaver (#3) and Evan Holbrook (#4) each lost, 6-1, 6-0. Penn St. Abington's Mohammed Ammouni, one of the better players in the NEAC, defeated Daniel Fabrick, 6-0, 6-0 at number one singles.

Lancaster Bible is back in action on Saturday when they host Penn St. Berks at 12 p.m. The match will be held at Linden Hall School in Lititz, Pa.
