The Lancaster Bible College baseball team capped its spring break trip in Myrtle Beach, S.C. in impressive fashion on Thursday as the Chargers swept a doubleheader from Albertus Magnus and improved to 6-3 this season. The Chargers took game one, 19-4, after another 20-hit performance and then earned their second walk-off win of the week in game two as Lancaster Bible won, 5-4. The Chargers are now 6-3 overall and went 5-2 on their spring break trip. 
The 6-3 mark is the best start for the program since the first year of baseball at Lancaster Bible in 1980 when the Chargers won their first nine games of the season and finished the year with a 10-1 record. The 5-2 spring break record is the best mark for the Chargers as well since the team began its annual trip south in the 2014 season. Lancaster Bible was 3-3 in Myrtle Beach last season.
Lancaster Bible 19, Albertus Magnus 4 -- Game 1

Josh Mayer got the the hit brigade started in the first inning as he blasted his first home run of the season...Sophomore 
Adam Cohick had a two-run single as well in the first and Lancaster Bible added four more runs in the second inning as sophomore 
Will Welsh hammered a three-run home run to put the Chargers ahead, 6-1...Senior 
Brian Niedergall added an RBI single later in the inning and the Chargers were well on their way to another big win...Leading, 8-4 in the top of the sixth, the Chargers exploded for eight runs to blow the game wide open...Freshman 
Michael Hill and Niedergall each added two-run hits in the inning...In the seventh, senior 
Jarod Leopold had a two-run double, while fellow senior

Zack Leonard pitched his second straight excellent game as he went the distance and scattered nine hits, while striking out seven.

Information Hodge Podge: Leonard did not walk a batter for the second straight game and now has 19 strikeouts against just three walks this year...The three hits for Welsh gave him nine in his previous three games.
Lancaster Bible 5, Albertus Magnus 4 -- Game 2
Game Notes: The Chargers opened the scoring in the third inning with two runs, but the Falcons tied it in their half of the fifth...Lancaster Bible re-took the lead in the home half of the fifth, as Niedergall singled home Cohick to give the Chargers a 3-2 advantage...Albertus Magnus fought back again though and took a 4-3 lead in the top of the sixth...Cohick singled in Mayer in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at 4-4 and after senior starter 
Nate Burns held the Falcons at bay in the top of the seventh, the clutch Chargers made sure there would be no extra innings...After Elliott led off with a single, freshman 
Matt Taylor connected for a double with two strikes and Elliott sprinted around the bases and crossed home plate to give Lancaster Bible a 5-4, come from behind victory.
Inside the Box Score: King, 
Justin Taylor, Elliott and Niedergall all had two hits for Lancaster Bible...Mayer scored twice for the Chargers, while Cohick was on base two times...Burns gave the Chargers another solid pitching performance as he allowed just six hits and struck out two.
