The Lancaster Bible College baseball team returned to Charger Field in a big way on Saturday as three Chargers pitchers combined for a no-hitter in game one and four more combined for a one-hitter in game two as Lancaster Bible took two games from Valley Forge. Junior

Gabe Yoder combined to throw the program's second-ever no-hitter in game one as Lancaster Bible allowed just two base runners en route to the 10-0 victory. The no-hitter almost came two years to the day of the program's first no-hitter when
Nate Burns no-hit the same Valley Forge team on March 30, 2015.
Game two went almost as well for the Chargers as they allowed one hit and cruised to a 10-1 victory. The Chargers are now 8-3 overall and have won six straight games, while Valley Forge dropped to 1-15 this season.
Lancaster Bible 10, Valley Forge 0 -- Game 1
How it Happened: Lancaster Bible starter
Zack Leonard went to work right away as he struck out the first two batters he faced. After giving up a walk to Landyn Traffas, Leonard took a few deep breaths and calmly picked Traffas off to end the inning. The Chargers' offense got to its work immediately as well, as Lancaster Bible scored four times in the bottom of the first. Sophomore
Adam Cohick picked up an RBI single in the inning, while junior
Braden Elliott had a two-run single later in the inning to make it 4-0.Â
After allowing a leadoff walk in the top of the second, Leonard struck out the side and didn't allow another base runner in his four innings of work. The Chargers scored four more times in the bottom of the second, highlighted by Cohick's two-run home run that made it 8-0. Lancaster Bible capped its scoring in the third inning as sophomore
Will Welsh added to his team lead with his fourth home run of the season. Welsh's line drive home run over the right-field wall scored
Josh Mayer and made it 10-0.
Freshman
Jesse Carver pitched a scoreless fifth inning, earning two strikeouts, while senior
Gabe Yoder pitched the sixth and seventh innings, striking out five of the six batters he faced. Yoder struck out the side in the seventh and finished off the no-hitter in style with three straight strikes.
By the Numbers: Cohick finished 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored...Elliott was 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Welsh was 1-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI...Senior
Justin Taylor was 1-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI...Mayer was 0-for-2, but drew two walks and scored both times...Leonard earned his third win of the season as he went four innings, allowed no hits and just two walks, but also struck out six.
Information Hodge Podge: The three Lancaster Bible pitchers combined for 13 strikeouts and faced just one batter over the minimum...The no-hitter was the eighth of the season in NCAA Division III and the second time this year that Valley Forge has been no-hit as Cairn held the Patriots hitless on March 2 in a darkness-shortened five-inning contest.
Lancaster Bible 10, Valley Forge 1 -- Game 2
How it Happened: Lancaster Bible jumped on Valley Forge again in game two as the Chargers scored four runs in the bottom of the first. The Chargers were aided by defensive miscues by the Patriots as the first two runs across the plate in the first came via errors, followed by a balk and finally a wild pitch to make it 4-0. Senior
Doug Gundlach had an RBI groundout in the third inning to make it 5-0, before Valley Forge got their first and only hit of the day in the fourth inning and made it 5-1 on an RBI single by Traffas.
Mayer helped the Chargers restore their five-run lead in the bottom of the inning as his RBI single scored sophomore
Jensen King. Freshman
Matt Taylor added an RBI groundout in the fifth inning to make it 7-1 in favor of the Chargers and
Justin Taylor put an exclamation point on the day with a three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth that made it 10-1.
Four pitchers combined on the one-hitter in game two as senior
Nate Burns went four innings and earned his second win of the season.

Nate Staffieri pitched the fifth, sixth and seventh innings as Lancaster Bible won its sixth straight game.
By the Numbers: Mayer finished 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI...
Justin Taylor was 1-for-4 with three RBI and his third home run of the year was his lone hit in game two...King was 1-for-3 with three runs scored...Burns went four innings and allowed just the one hit and struck out eight batters.
