The Lancaster Bible College men's tennis team was back on the court for the second straight day and lost to Penn St. Harrisburg, 9-0 in Middletown, Pa. The Chargers are now 1-4 overall, while the Nittany Lions improved to 5-9.
Lancaster Bible dropped all three doubles matches by the same, 8-1 score as the teams of
Jared Steiner/
Cody Rupp,
Ming Bowser/
Evan Holbrook and
Jason Steiner/Keven Vallette, couldn't get anything going against the tough Penn St. Harrisburg squads.
The Chargers didn't fare much better in singles action, as the Nittany Lions took all six matches. Bowser, playing in flight one for the fifth time this season, lost to Austin Pokopec, 6-3, 6-1, while
Jason Steiner (flight two) and Holbrook (flight three), each lost, 6-0, 6-0.Â
Vallette (flight four) and Rupp (flight five) each suffered, 6-1, 6-0 losses, while senior
Caleb Onasch dropped his flight six singles match, 6-0, 6-1 to Ryan McCurdy.Â
Lancaster Bible is now 0-7 all-time against Penn St. Harrisburg.
The Chargers are back on the court on Friday when they host Bryn Athyn at 1 p.m. at Hempfield Rec Center in Landisville, Pa.
