The Lancaster Bible College men's tennis team stayed perfect in North Eastern Athletic Conference play on Friday as the Chargers defeated Bryn Athyn, 7-2 at Hempfield Rec Center in Landisville, Pa. The Chargers are now 2-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play, while Bryn Athyn dropped to 0-3 overall and 0-3 in NEAC action.
On Friday, the Chargers jumped out to a 2-1 lead as they grabbed two of the three doubles matches.
Ming Bowser and
Cody Rupp suffered a close loss in flight one as they fell, 8-6, but
Jared Steiner and
Evan Holbrook picked them up in flight two with an 8-0 victory.
Jason Steiner and
Keven Vallette won by the same 8-0 score in flight three as they defeated Billy Martin and Cody Castor.Â
Both Steiner brothers cruised in singles play, as Jared won his number two singles match, 6-1, 6-1, while Jason won his flight three match, 6-0, 6-1. Holbrook was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at number four singles, while Rupp won his flight five match, 6-0, 6-0. Senior
Caleb Onasch also won his flight six match, 6-0, 6-0.
Lancaster Bible is now 6-0 all-time against Bryn Athyn.
The Chargers return to action on Tuesday when they face Delaware Valley in Doylestown, Pa. at 3:30 p.m.
