The Lancaster Bible College baseball team, for the third time in three tries, split a North Eastern Athletic Conference doubleheader on Saturday as the Chargers took game one over Gallaudet, but lost in 10 innings in game two. Lancaster Bible won game, 7-0 as senior
Nate Burns tossed a two-hit gem, but Gallaudet fought back for a 4-3 win in game two.Â
The Chargers are now 13-8 overall and 3-3 in NEAC play, while Gallaudet is now 6-23 overall and 1-5 in conference play.
Lancaster Bible 7, Gallaudet 0 -- Game 1
How it Happened: The Chargers got on the board in the first inning as sophomore
Will Welsh had an RBI to give Lancaster Bible a 1-0 lead. The Chargers added a run in the third, taking advantage of one of six Gallaudet errors in game one.Â
Lancaster Bible plated four more runs in the fifth inning as Welsh added another RBI and sophomore
Adam Cohick drove in two runs with a single. Cohick scored later in the inning on an error and the Chargers put a bow on the win in the sixth as freshman
Beau Heagy hit an RBI single to center field.Â

Nate Burns was on the mound on for the Chargers, spinning a two-hit shutout. Burns was terrific as he struck out three and got 10 ground ball outs, recording his NEAC-leading fourth win of the season.

Gallaudet 4, Lancaster Bible 3 (10 inn.) -- Game 2
How it Happened: Gallaudet scored in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead, but the Chargers responded with runs in the second, third and sixth, to take a 3-1 lead. Mayer had an RBI double in the third to give the Chargers a 2-1 lead, while Welsh scored the runs in the second and sixth.Â
The Bison responded in their half of the sixth inning with two runs to tie the game at 3-3 and both teams' bats went quiet following the sixth, as the teams combined for just two hits from the seventh through the ninth inning.Â
That changed in the 10th as Lancaster Bible loaded the bases with two outs, but couldn't score the go-ahead run. Lancaster Bible got the first two batters out in the bottom of the 10th, but a triple, followed by a single, won the game for the Bison and sent the Chargers to 3-3 in NEAC play.
