The Lancaster Bible College men's tennis squared off against Lancaster County neighbor and NCAA Division II foe, Millersville on Thursday in Millersville, Pa. and came up short, 8-1. The Chargers are now 3-6 this season, while the Marauders capped their season with a 1-18 record.Â
Lancaster Bible picked up its lone point during doubles action as the flight three team of
Keven Vallette and
Jason Steiner earned an 8-2 victory over Patrick Maher and Adam Kopitsky. The number one doubles team of
Jared Steiner and
Evan Holbrook suffered an 8-0 loss, while
Ming Bowser and
Caleb Onasch fell, 8-2 at number two doubles.
In singles play, Bowser lost, 6-0, 6-0 in flight one, while
Jared Steiner lost, 6-2, 6-1 at number two singles.
Jason Steiner dropped a 6-1, 6-0 match to Noah Ginder in flight three singles, while Holbrook was defeated, 6-2, 6-2 at number four singles.Â
The best two matches of singles play were at flights five and six as Vallette dropped a close match, 2-6, 6-4, 10-7, at number five singles, while Onasch fell, 6-4, 7-6 in flight six.
Lancaster Bible wraps up its regular season on Friday as the Chargers host Penn St. Abington at 3:30 p.m. The match will take place at Hempfield Rec Center in Landisville, Pa. and the Chargers will honor their three seniors prior to the match.
