The Lancaster Bible College men's and women's tennis teams each picked up wins on Sunday as the men's team won its first match of the season with a 6-3 victory, while the women defeated Penn College, 8-1. The Lancaster Bible men are now 1-3 overall and 1-0 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the women improved to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in NEACÂ action.Â

How it Happened: Lancaster Bible won all three doubles matches on Sunday as the number one team of
Greta Strunk and
Lynndath Thelemaque improved to 6-0 this season with an 8-0 victory. The number three team of
Stephanie Blest and
Sarah Wetzel also won, 8-0, while the number two team of
Brianne Smith and
Kayla Weaser won, 8-1.Â
Strunk continued her dominance during singles as she took down Melissa Stabley, 6-0, 6-1 in flight one. Thelemaque was equally impressive as she won, 6-1, 6-0 in flight two. Weaser, playing in flight four, won, 6-1, 6-1, while fellow senior Blest won at number five singles, 6-0, 6-2. Wetzel won her flight six match, 6-3, 7-5 over Emily Bell.Â
Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 3-0 all-time against Penn College...The four match winning streak is a new program record, breaking the old record of three set during the 2010 season.Â

How it Happened: The Chargers trailed, 2-1 after doubles play as the only Chargers team to win in doubles was the number three team of
Jason Steiner and
Keven Vallette, as they defeated Ben Morton and Stephen Helminiak, 8-4. Lancaster Bible made up the deficit in singles action as the Chargers won five of the six matches, led by senior
Jared Steiner who won his flight two match, 6-2, 6-2.Â
Jared's brother Jason also won his singles match, as he took home a victory in flight three with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Ethan Rosler. Junior
Evan Holbrook was victorious in flight four with a 7-5, 6-3 win, while
Cody Rupp was a winner at number five, 4-6, 6-1, 12-10. Vallette was the final singles winner for the Chargers as he won, 6-1, 6-4 in flight six.
Ming Bowser played well in his loss in flight one as he fell, 7-6 (3), 6-2.Â
