The Lancaster Bible College men's tennis team won for the second time in three matches on Tuesday, defeating Rosemont, 9-0 in Rosemont, Pa. The Chargers are now 3-6 this season, while the Ravens fell to 0-9.Â
The Chargers cruised in doubles play, dropping just one game in three matches. The top team of Luke Newberry and Derice Butler won, 8-0, as did the flight two team of Ming Bowser and Evan Holbrook. The number three doubles team of Keven Vallette and Kyle Heck were victorious, 8-1.
Newberry easily won at flight one singles, earning a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Rosemont's David Kleiner, while Bowser was a victor at number two singles, 6-2, 6-0. Holbrook earned a 6-0, 6-2 win at number three singles, and Butler won 6-4, 6-2 over John Crozier at flight four singles.
Both Vallette and Heck won 6-0, 6-0 at number five and six singles respectively. The Chargers are now 2-0 all-time against Rosemont.
The Chargers return to action on Saturday when they take on Penn College at 1 p.m. in Williamsport, Pa.
