The Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team split its second straight tri-match on Thursday evening, as the Chargers defeated host Clarks Summit, 3-0, before falling to Misericordia, 3-1 in Clarks Summit, Pa. The Chargers are now 3-7 overall this season, while Clarks Summit is 2-8, and Misericordia is 9-3.

Statistically Speaking: Lancaster Bible dominated the Defenders in the opening match, as the Chargers had a 27-16 lead in kills, and a 12-0 edge in aces…Lancaster Bible also held a 46-43 advantage in digs…Kate Smoker led the Chargers with three kills, eight aces and six digs…Ashtyn Bouslog had another strong match with eight kills, while Bekah Roberts had five kills and two blocks…Cassidy King added four kills and eight digs, and Allison Shuey had two kills and 19 assists…Senior Mandy Carroll added two aces as well.
 
News & Notes: Lancaster Bible is now 12-40 all-time against the Defenders…Lancaster Bible hasn't lost to Clarks Summit since the 2011 season, and has won six straight against the Defenders…Smoker's eight aces are tied for the fourth-most by a Lancaster Bible player in a single match…Hannah Thompson had eight in a five-set loss to Misericordia last season on Oct. 27, 2018.

Statistically Speaking: Misericordia led in kills, 41-34, and aces, 7-3…Both teams had nine team blocks, while the Chargers held a 50-49 edge in digs…Errors hurt the Chargers for the second straight night, as they had 34 kills and 30 errors on 120 attempts for a .033 hitting percentage…Bouslog led the Chargers with 14 kills and eight digs, while Roberts had eight kills and two blocks…Emma Thomann added three kills and two blocks, while Shuey had 21 assists and six digs…Aleah Heyworth added a kill, four blocks and 12 digs…Suzanna Whiting added 11 digs.
 
The Coach Says: "We executed well for a lot of both matches, and were ahead in the first two sets against Misericordia, and just couldn't finish the job and push through mentally," Lancaster Bible Head Coach Micah Herron said. "We need to keep figuring out how to win, and we are a young team, and I think sometimes we wish that process was quicker, but we are taking steps in the right direction, just have to keep finding a way to execute at the end of sets."
 
News & Notes: Lancaster Bible is now 0-4 all-time against the Cougars…Through 10 matches this season, Lancaster Bible has played just three three-set matches…Lancaster Bible's 50 digs against Misericordia were the eighth time this year the Chargers have had 50 or more digs in a match…The nine total team blocks are a season high.
